Long time. New Stuff to be added

Hey, guys! It’s been forever and a day since I’ve stepped into the magical world of Macintosh Emulation, but I come bearing good and bad news. First, the bad news:

 

Macheaven.net is closing for good. There was a LOT of good abandonware on that website, and it’s sad to see it go. As of December 6th, 2012, it will officially be out of commission. It’s always a pity to see stuff like this just disappear, with all the forum posts and everything gone. But, I do have good news! Out of the ashes, the site owner has provided the ENTIRE contents of the site available for download. That’s right, all that abandonware is categorized and ready to be used by you! What good is it for me to talk about this? Well, I’m going to host it on my Mediafire archive in the near future! Some breaking up of the archive into parts, and we will be ready to roll! So stay tuned! I haven’t abandoned you all yet!

Copyright

I recieved a notice from a company called Muso that claims copyright infringement on one file “1989.rar”, claiming that it contains System 7 files. This is utterly ridiculous, as they do not hold the claim. At any rate, I need to find that file to reupload it for you all!

 

Sorry for being away for so long. It’s hard to keep up 2 websites, school, and a new relationship (that’s right, folks, fanman93 is taken!). I’d really appreciate some help in this area. I think a custom server, so we can avoid incidents like this, would be awesome! Is anyone willing to mirror the entire archive, as it stands?

Have I quit?

Problems

Hey there everyone! I’m really sorry about not posting anything lately. A lot of stuff has been going on in my personal life, which hasn’t allowed me too much time to think. My Uncle is dying of cancer, so hopefully you’ll all understand. I promise that when the next opportunity arrises, I’ll post something worthwhile!

Weekends to come

I’m going to be doing a writeup soon for Minix for the Macintosh, which is long overdue. Since it’s going to be Easter soon, and I have a longer break on a weekend than I usually do, I’ll be packaging some vMac and Basilisk II software really soon! I just want to get Mac OS 9 up and running once more, so I no longer have to worry about SheepShaver not working on my laptop. Exciting things are going to happen! Also, be sure to check out a Torrent mirror that I’m going to set up; it’ll be worth while if I get a couple more seeders!

6000 Views!

I just noticed that the website has reached 6000 views! That’s a lot more than I initially expected when I created the site! Thanks for the support, guys!

Forum in the making

I don’t ever want to steal E-Maculation’s thunder: don’t get me wrong, I love the site and how it works, and it is much more mature than this site. I just feel that with so many people viewing the site that it would be a good idea to create a forum where people can discuss the software side of emulators such as Mini vMac, Basilisk II and SheepShaver. I don’t want to create a support forum (any support will be directly linked to E-Maculation via a sticky posted on the Help board), but just a place where people can discuss what they want when they want about pretty much any software out there. So, all this to say that I’ll be posting the link to it soon, so be sure to check it out!

Plans for the weekend

Well, this weekend I was hoping to get some more work done on the site. I’ve already cleaned up my Mediafire archive, I’ve updated the look, added a page or two, etc., but I’m still not done! I’m going to be making a Basilisk II setup page for Windows and possibly update my Mini vMac setup guide to work with Mac and Linux (and the DS, since that’s what I use the most!) Unfortunately (or fortunately), I have some commitments with the girl, with other friends, with work… You name it, it’s happening this weekend! I feel bad, since this website and E-Maculation are the two places that I feel at home on the internet (besides Facebook, which I have to say is a colossal waste of time), and I’ve been neglecting the both of them! I know that personal information doesn’t always interest most people, but I had to rant somewhere. I guess this would be the place!
